Non-Alcoholic Spicy Blood Orange Margarita

The margarita's showier sibling. Deep crimson blood orange juice, a rim of chili salt, and the clean heat of jalapeño — this one makes an entrance.

How to Make It

  1. Rim your glass with chili salt or Tajín.
  2. In a shaker, muddle the jalapeño slices briefly.
  3. Add the Alcohol-Free Tequila, blood orange juice, lime juice, and agave syrup with ice.
  4. Shake vigorously and double-strain into the prepared glass over ice.
  5. Garnish with a blood orange wheel and a jalapeño slice.

Why This Works

Blood orange changes the margarita's math. It's sweeter and less acidic than lime, with a berry-like depth regular oranges don't have — so it can't replace the lime, but it can share the citrus role. The lime handles the sharpness; the blood orange handles color, aroma, and a rounder, darker fruit note.

The jalapeño works because capsaicin heat and citrus brightness amplify each other. A few slices shaken with the drink release just enough fire to warm the finish of each sip without ever taking over — heat as seasoning, not as a stunt.

The chili-salt rim ties the whole build together: salt to round the citrus and soften bitterness, chili to echo the jalapeño inside the glass. Every element of this drink appears twice — once in the liquid, once at the rim — which is why it tastes composed rather than busy.

The Alcohol-Free Swap

Alcohol-Free Tequila's clean, agave-forward character holds up beautifully against the heat and acidity in this bold variation.
